Jennifer Scott, a Houston, Texas native, joined the firm in 2018 as an Associate Attorney and she has focused her practice on the area of divorce law. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston, where she earned a spot on the Dean’s List numerous times and graduated cum laude. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center in 2017.
While in law school, Jennifer represented her school nationally as an advocate with the moot court team. She had the opportunity to participate as a brief writer and speaker in the 2015 San Diego Criminal Procedure Competition, a brief writer for the 2016 CAU Immigration Law Competition in Washington D.C., and a speaker in the 2017 Saul Lefkowitz Trademark Competition in Dallas. Additionally, Jennifer completed 40 hours of mediation training to receive her Mediation Certificate. Jennifer was also a contributing editor on the Journal of Consumer and Commercial Law and was honored by being included on the Dean’s List.
In addition to her work in law school, Jennifer interned with the Honorable Judge Mike Engelhart of the 151st District Court of Harris County and also with the Fort Bend County District Attorney Domestic Violence division. Prior to moving to the St. Louis area, Jennifer clerked with a boutique employment immigration firm in Houston, Texas for two years.
Jennifer was licensed in Texas in 2017 and in Missouri in 2018. She is a member of the State Bar of Missouri, the State Bar of Texas, and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
In her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, Charles Achord, and her pets.
