Mr. Mogerman received his undergraduate degree in 1982 from Drake University, and his law degree in 1985 from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. He was the 1997 recipient of the John C. Shepherd Award for Professionalism presented by the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. The award, named in honor of the late St. Louis lawyer and former ABA president, is presented on an annual basis to the “…lawyer who most exemplifies the tenets of professionalism of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis." Mr. Mogerman is a member of the Family Law Sections of the American Bar Association, the Missouri Bar, and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. He served as Chair of the Family Law Section of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis from 1993 to 1995. He holds the "AV" rating of the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory. Mr. Mogerman has lectured on a wide range of family law topics for such sponsors of continuing legal education programming as The Missouri Bar, the Missouri Judicial College for Trial Court Judges, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the University of Missouri, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the St. Louis County Bar Association, and the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation. He has co-authored many articles for legal journals and continuing legal education programs, many of which appear elsewhere on this web site. He has also co-authored two chapters in the book entitled Missouri Family Law: "Characterization and Division of Property in Divorce" and "Conflicts of Law." In addition to his trial practice, Mr. Mogerman maintains an interest in appellate practice; he has briefed and argued nearly thirty appeals in the Missouri Court of Appeals, as well as the Missouri Supreme Court. Mr. Mogerman served as president of Congregation Temple Israel in St. Louis from 2002 through 2004. He is married to Dee Mogerman and they are the parents of three sons.
